Q: Tell us a bit about yourself and Vaylo. What do you do there?
A: I’m sivaramraju, and I’m the CEO of Vaylo. Essentially, Vaylo is about making valet parking better. We’re using tech to streamline the whole process and put privacy first. We want to improve the experience for both customers and venues.
Q: What exactly does Vaylo do? What problem are you solving?
A: We’re streamlining valet parking with a paperless, privacy-first solution. This is all about making things smoother for the customer, helping businesses keep customers happy, and boosting growth. The main problems we’re tackling are around privacy, efficiency, and cost. Customers are rightly worried about their personal data when using valet services. Old paper ticket systems just don’t cut it for privacy or speed. Venues also face issues with slow service, lack of parking space transparency, and inefficient driver management, which adds to costs and makes it hard to track what’s going on. There’s often no clear reporting on valet operations, or structured records of vehicle movements.
Q: And how does Vaylo solve these problems?
A: Vaylo focuses on privacy, speed, and simplicity. Privacy is built into the design. We don’t need phone numbers, which immediately builds trust and keeps operations smooth. For customers, it’s a seamless experience. They can request their car right from their phone. No more waiting around. And for venues, Vaylo is easy to adopt. It works with their current systems. It provides secure, transparent operations without needing big changes.
Q: Who is on the founding team?
A: It’s me, Sivaramraju. I’ve been in tech for over 15 years. I’ve founded a couple of platforms, including aasaan.app and now vaylo.app. I have a background in software development and startups, and I’m focused on building user-friendly digital solutions.
Q: What made you decide to start Vaylo in this industry?
A: It felt like the right time to address the issues with modern parking. The old ways create paper waste, don’t protect privacy, and are often inefficient. There’s a growing need for contactless solutions, and we saw a chance to fix the traditional problems with valet parking, especially around data security.
Q: What were the early days of Vaylo like? What were some initial challenges?
A: One of the first big hurdles was convincing traditional venues to move away from paper tickets and adopt a digital system. Change can be hard, especially in established industries.
Q: What makes Vaylo different from other valet parking solutions out there?
A: Our privacy-first approach is unique. We don’t collect personal data. We also have seamless wallet integration and completely paperless operations. Real-time tracking works without needing phone numbers or apps for the customer. Plus, we offer powerful analytics and custom branding for venues. This combination really sets us apart.
Q: Has Vaylo received any funding?
A: Not yet, no external funding so far.
Q: What are your plans for the future of Vaylo?
A: We’re looking at incorporating AI for predictive analytics. We also want to integrate with smart cities and ensure compatibility with autonomous vehicles. International expansion is on the horizon. We’re focused on constantly improving our security features and developing APIs so Vaylo can integrate with even more systems.
Q: Can you share some details about Vaylo’s current revenue and customer base?
A: We just started in Hyderabad and have a few clients, around two or three right now. We’re serving roughly 19,999 customers a month on average, though that’s still early days. Our year-on-year growth percentage at the moment is about 0.05%, but we expect that to change as we grow.
Q: Any advice for people thinking of starting their own business?
A: Just start building and ship as soon as possible. Don’t wait for everything to be perfect. Get something out there and learn from it.
