This Startup Lets You Build Your Own AI Copilot in a Week – Insituate Startup Review

Professionals are grappling with the complexities of integrating Generative AI into their businesses. The main hurdles? Navigating technical challenges, security issues, and compliance concerns, all while trying to stay ahead in a fast-moving industry.

What if these obstacles could be simplified? Imagine having tools that allow you to build AI assistants tailored precisely to your needs, without the usual headaches.

This is where Insituate steps in. Their innovative approach lets businesses create custom AI copilots quickly and securely. With products like Copilot Studio and AutoLLM, they’re making AI accessible and manageable, turning what could be a daunting task into a streamlined process.

We spoke with Nishant Sharma, Founder and CEO of Insituate, to uncover how their solutions are transforming AI integration and what’s next for their dynamic team.

What is Insituate?

Insituate is a startup dedicated to empowering business professionals by enabling them to create their own AI copilots. This platform particularly caters to channel partners who engage with large firms in heavily regulated sectors such as banking, healthcare, and legal industries. Recognising the pressing need for immediate integration of Generative AI, Insituate aims to bridge the gap for businesses struggling with technical hurdles, security concerns, and compliance challenges.

The company addresses these challenges through two primary products: Copilot Studio and AutoLLM. With Copilot Studio, professionals can securely construct tailored AI copilots using their data and open-source models. Meanwhile, AutoLLM autonomously generates reasoning engines to simplify complex workflows. This integration streamlines development processes, making it feasible to deploy robust AI solutions in just one week, a stark contrast to the typical two-year timeline seen in the industry.

What sets Insituate apart is its focus on user empowerment. Unlike competitors that provide generic solutions, Insituate encourages professionals to design tools that directly address their specific needs. This approach not only enhances productivity but also fosters a culture of innovation in workplaces that are increasingly reliant on AI technologies.

Insituate Founders

Nishant Sharma, the founder and CEO of Insituate, stands at the helm of a team that is reshaping how businesses approach AI integration. His journey began at IIT Delhi, where he pursued a degree in Engineering Physics. Nishant’s academic background is steeped in computational neuroscience, AI, and deep reinforcement learning, laying a solid foundation for the transformative work he leads today.

Insituate Team

Joining him in this venture are Ritik and Atif, two talented individuals who have also emerged from the hallowed halls of IIT and IIIT Delhi. Ritik, with his strong footing in finance and deep-tech AI, occupies the pivotal role of Head of Technology for AutoLLM. Meanwhile, Atif heads technology at Copilot Studio, armed with expertise in computer science and machine learning. Together, their diverse backgrounds mesh well, creating a robust leadership team capable of addressing the intricate challenges faced by regulated industries.

The initial phase of Insituate was anything but smooth. The trio was juggling their academic responsibilities while striving to meet the demanding expectations of early pilot projects. Their initial product, Copilot Studio, was just in its infancy, and managing multiple projects simultaneously posed significant hurdles. Yet, this very challenge became the catalyst for innovation. The team successfully developed AutoLLM, a technology that streamlined the process of building AI copilots, significantly reducing turnaround times and enhancing capabilities.

The inspiration behind Insituate emerged from a keen observation of the shifting landscape of Generative AI technologies, coupled with a realisation that many professionals were struggling to leverage these advancements. The founders recognised a sizeable gap in the market where neither the technology nor the regulatory frameworks were accommodating to the needs of business users. They envisioned a platform that would democratise AI access, allowing professionals to build their own tailored copilots and in turn, empower them to harness AI more effectively in their respective fields.

Interview with Nishant Sharma, Founder & CEO of Insituate

We had the opportunity to interview Nishant Sharma, the driving force behind Insituate, a startup reshaping AI integration for businesses. Here’s what he had to say:

Q: Could you introduce yourself and your role at Insituate?

A: I am Nishant Sharma, the Founder and CEO of Insituate.

Q: What does Insituate do?

A: Insituate helps business professionals create their own AI copilots. Our platform is designed for channel partners who work with large firms in heavily regulated industries.

Q: Who is your target audience?

A: Our primary audience is channel partners working with the largest firms in regulated industries such as banking, healthcare, and legal sectors.

Q: What primary problem does Insituate aim to solve?

A: We address the urgent need for rapid and meaningful integration of Generative AI (GenAI) in businesses. Many firms struggle with technical challenges, security concerns, and compliance issues while trying to keep up with the fast-paced advancements in GenAI. Insituate bridges this gap.

Q: How does Insituate solve this problem?

A: Insituate offers two main products: Copilot Studio and AutoLLM. Copilot Studio allows professionals to build AI copilots securely using their data and open-source models. AutoLLM autonomously creates reasoning engines that power these copilots, simplifying complex workflows.

Q: Can you tell us about your founding team?

A: Our core team consists of myself, Atif, and Ritik. Ritik and I graduated from IIT Delhi with degrees in Engineering Physics, and Atif graduated from IIIT Delhi with a degree in Computer Science and Biology. Atif leads technology at Copilot Studio, leveraging his expertise in computer science and machine learning. Ritik, with his strong background in finance and deep-tech AI, heads technology at AutoLLM.

Q: What inspired you to venture into this particular industry?

A: We were inspired by the emerging trends in Generative AI and the rapid evolution of state-of-the-art technologies powered by open-source. Despite these advancements, many business professionals couldn’t leverage these benefits due to a lack of AI expertise and regulatory complexities. We saw an opportunity to bridge this gap by creating a platform that allows individuals to build their own AI copilots, tailored to their specific needs.

Q: Could you share some details about the early days of Insituate?

A: In the early days, we faced significant challenges with turnaround times. Our initial product, Copilot Studio, was in its infancy, and managing the development of ten pilot projects simultaneously was demanding. Balancing our academic responsibilities with starting a company added to the complexity. To address these challenges, we developed AutoLLM, a technology designed to streamline and accelerate the process of building AI copilots. This breakthrough allowed us to manage our academic responsibilities while meeting the expectations of our early adopters.

Q: How does Insituate differentiate itself from its competitors?

A: We differentiate ourselves with AutoLLM, which builds reasoning engines far beyond the capabilities of a typical GPT wrapper. Our turnaround times are within one week, and all our solutions are deployed in highly regulated industries such as banks, courts, and hospitals.

Q: What are your plans for the future?

A: Our plan is to double our Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) in the next four months. We will also release a new module, “Mixture of Copilots,” which empowers users to create cross-functional copilots using existing ones. Our next step is to integrate AutoLLM into our Copilot Studio, making it the most power-packed self-service AI platform in the world.

Q: Let’s talk about revenue. How much does your startup make per month?

A: We make $10k Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) and an additional $10K this month. We serve an average of 10 customers per month.

Q: What’s your growth percentage year over year?

A: We’ve been operational for a little less than a year, and we’ve seen 100% growth quarter over quarter.

Q: Any advice for aspiring entrepreneurs looking to start their own business?

A: The best time to start your own business might not ever come. You have to start, get things in order, and show up every day.

Q: Could you share some statistics related to your industry and startup?

A: It typically takes 24 months to bring an AI copilot from cold start to production. With Insituate’s Copilot Studio, you can create copilots in just one week.
